SCALLOPS Strategic Planning Mtg

Cathy, Gene, Cate & Susan,

Thanks for a productive meeting yesterday. I'm glad to be part of the team and was inspired by some of the words/language that we bounced around:

I see SCALLOPS as one whole system/community:

Eastside, Southside, Westside, Northside with Seattle at the core. I will fill in these areas with their specific groups/cities, membership numbers and the "good news" project that they would like to feature via YouTube. I will also ask each group if they are aware of local sponsors to advertise in support of their project.

In whole system design the parts support the whole and in turn, the whole is sustainable, restorative and ....generative or synergetic! Such a system is a happy one. This quality is reflected in our individual values and actions as well as in our collective projects and programs. Happiness is the Heart and Soul of a generative, cooperative and creative community.

Additional words that have meaning to me:

Communion with place (Earth below; Sky above)
Communication of heart, head and hands
Community engaged, inspired, happy

Our meeting was a good example of Rob Hopkins' "creative genius of community."
